To top it all we have Emraan, who is like the master of this genre now, and three actresses, who are very different from each other. It has all the recipes of a super entertaining film. Vishal and Mukul (Sharma) have written a wonderful folklore horror film. " Ek Thi Daayan was an experience in itself. The film has been directed by Kannan Iyer and co-produced by Vishal Bhardwaj. It was a great experience for all of us."Įk Thi Daayan also stars Konkona Sen Sharma and Kalki Koechlin. The energy there was so positive and peaceful. "We all felt very enlightened and emotionally calm after the yajna and the dip at sangam. I have visited two Kumbh melas in the past but this is my first Maha Kumbh. When asked about the Maha Kumbh experience, Ekta, known to be a religious person, said, "It was a once in a life time experience. We made our intention very clear to the authorities and we did not face any trouble at all," she added. "I believe that when the intent is right there is no problem at all. There were clear instructions from the administration that no film promotion activity would be allowed at the mela but the team was allowed after they promised to keep their movement low-key. Everyone participating in it was there for that very reason, so how are we different? Besides hard work, I think it is necessary to have blessings," Ekta told PTI over phone from Allahabad.
I visited Maha Kumbh to seek blessings for the film and not promote it. The scene shot with him is memorable.Producer-director Ekta Kapoor takes bath at Sangam during the Maha Kumbh Mela in Allahabad on Saturday. I will always have a lot of love and respect for them. Dialogue was a unique method of delivery. Irrfan Khan used to speak these dialogues very easily. I remember that the film had a lot of intense scenes and dialogue. During a scene we had to run away, but the saints present there thought that someone was really driving me away and they used to shout in the middle that they were driving the girl away. We had permission to shoot at the fair but it was impossible for us to control the crowd. This Kumbh Mela used to come once in 100 years and when we went there we had a lot of difficulty shooting because it was not easy to shoot at the actual location. When the climax shoot of this film was done at the Kumbh Melaįor the shoot 10 days we went to a real Kumbh Mela. I consider myself lucky to work in this film as a female lead. Achievement proved to be very successful for me, after which I received many offers. When she read the script, she found my role very challenging. I liked the script at first but then I also asked the mother to read the script.
When Tigmanshu sent me the script he had received, it was very different, serious and intense. I remember when I was very young and was shooting a lot of films. The dialogues of this film were also very popular, even today many people remember them. During that time commercial films used to make more but Tigmanshu Dhulia made a different film which brought a change in the film industry. Somewhere I think they are in the footsteps of ‘Achha’. Nowadays, many films tell the story of small towns.
The film was made in a time where no one showed the story of small towns. Rishita Bhatt told, ‘Achhaat’ is a very special film for me because this film has established me like an actress. Recently, the lead actress of the film, Rishita, in a conversation with Bhaskar, worked with Irrfan Khan and shared some special things related to the film. The film starred Irrfan Khan, Jimmy Shergill, Rishita Bhatt and Ashutosh Rana. Tigmanshu Dhulia’s film ‘Haasta’, released in 2003, has completed 17 years today.
